

Our History
Syiah Kuala University was first invited as an observer to the XIII ALSA Indonesia National Conference at Padjadjaran University, Bandung. Then Syiah Kuala University also attended the Pre-National Conference and Outward Bound at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta on September 13, 2006. On November 23, 2006, Syiah Kuala University again participated in the national event of ALSA Indonesia, namely the National Seminar and Workshop at Airlangga University, Surabaya.

At that time, there were 7 universities interested in joining ALSA, including Syiah Kuala University, Aceh, University of North Sumatra, Medan, Andalas University, Padang, Riau University, Gorontalo, Tadulako. From the above seven universities, only Syiah Kuala University was accepted as a new member of ALSA at the XIV National Conference held at Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. It was a very moving and historic thing for Syiah Kuala University at that time, because Syiah Kuala University was the second member in the Sumatra Island region after Sriwijaya University, Palembang. Syiah Kuala University officially joined the ALSA Indonesia family on March 13, 2007 at the XIV National Conference hosted by Sam Ratulangi University, Manado.
